Ministry for Mass Communication of Russian Federation has finished discussing the federal law project regarding administrative offenses. The main goal of the proposed changes was protection of Russian citizens’ rights during their personal data processing.
Ministry for Mass Communication of Russian Federation has finished discussing the federal law project regarding administrative offenses. The main goal of the proposed changes was protection of Russian citizens’ rights during their personal data processing.
During the discussion the Ministry paid respect to the opinions of community organizations, company representatives and ordinary citizens, who submitted their feedback and improvements.
According to the law project, the administrative offenses are subject to differentiation based on involved damage and consequences. Thereby the penalty for current personal data processing law violation is increased. Also Federal Service for Communication Supervision is now responsible for initiation of an administrative case instead of the prosecutor’s office.
Thanks to these law changes, the operators guilty of personal data processing violation will not escape prosecution, and people of Russia are guaranteed complete safety of their personal data.
